X-ray structural investigation of cobalt-chromium-yttrium aluminium-base compound

Description
Alloy YAl8(Co, Cr)3.6 was produced by melting chromium, cobalt, aluminium and yttrium in electric-arc vacuum furnace in helium atmosphere by three-stage remelting at 1550-1625 deg C and homogenizing annealing in vacuum at 1000-1100 deg C. By the X-ray differential analysis it has been ascertained that the alloy has ThMn12 type structure (a = 8.909 (1), c 5.097 (1)A), whereas yttrium atoms occupy 2(1) positions, aluminium atoms - 8(i) and 8(j) positions, transition metals are located in 8(f) position

Сплав YAl8(Co, Cr)3.6 получен сплавлением хрома, кобальта, алюминия и иттрия в электродуговой вакуумной печи в атмосфере гелия путем трехкратного переплава при 1550-1625 град. С и гомогенезирующего отжига в вакууме при 1000-1100 град. С. Методом рентгеноструктурного анализа сплав имеет структуру типа ThMn12 (a = 8,909 (1), c = 5,097 (1)A), при этом атомы иттрия занимают позиции 2(а), атомы алюминия -8(i) и 8(j), а атомы переходных металлов располагаются в позиции 8(f)Additional details
