Description

A series of triphenylamine based pyridyl cationic fluorophores were synthesized, characterized and investigated for their optical properties. The changes in absorption and emission behaviour of fluorophores in the presence of single stranded-DNA selectively indicates mutual affinity. The fluorophores show selective staining to nucleus as well as to the plasma membrane. (author)
