Effect of complex recovery of saturable absorption on the performance of mode-locked lasers

Description
Saturable absorbers with balanced slow and fast recovery mechanisms exhibiting a broadband recovery dynamics are shown to be advantageous for both reliable start-up of passive mode-locking and efficient pulse shortening. (control of laser radiation parameters)
