Digital mammography : detectors and quality control
Creators
Description
Digital mammography, with new detector developments and image processing algorithms represents the last innovation in breast imaging. This technology differs in many aspects from conventional screen film systems, and it has been necessary to define new standards and quality control procedures in order to assure that the image quality and dose values are similar to precedent system. the aim of this article is to present the state of the art of the digital mammography technology, including different system characteristics, and the main parameters which, due to their influence in the image quality and patient dose, must included or modified in the new quality control protocols.
