Regulatory changes concerning CO₂ emissions

Carbon pricing is spreading internationally and takes the form of carbon trading systems and / or a carbon tax. All systems have different carbon prices and none have carbon prices high enough to ensure that they remain below 2 deg. C by the end of the century. Price forecasts for 2030 on these existing carbon trading systems are all below a carbon price compatible with COP21 commitments. At the current rate, the global emissions Carbon Budget will be reached before the end of the century, especially because Europe, a region that is a major consumer and non-producer of fossil energy, is the only one to have an ETS system deployed at regional scale. In this context, carbon pricing will not allow to stay below 2 deg. C by the end of the Century
