Fault tree analysis
Description
Suggestion are made concerning the method of the fault tree analysis, the use of certain symbols in the examination of system failures. This purpose of the fault free analysis is to find logical connections of component or subsystem failures leading to undesirable occurrances. The results of these examinations are part of the system assessment concerning operation and safety. The objectives of the analysis are: systematical identification of all possible failure combinations (causes) leading to a specific undesirable occurrance, finding of reliability parameters such as frequency of failure combinations, frequency of the undesirable occurrance or non-availability of the system when required. The fault tree analysis provides a near and reconstructable documentation of the examination. (orig./HP)
Abstract (German)
Es werden Empfehlungen ueber die Methode der Fehlerbaumanalyse, ueber Bildzeichen und deren Benutzung bei der Untersuchung von Systemausfaellen gegeben. Das Verfahren kann fuer Systeme aller Art verwendet werden. Zweck der Fehlerbaumanalyse ist die Ermittlung der logischen Verknuepfungen von Komponenten- oder Teilsystemausfaellen, die zu einem unerwuenschten Ereignis fuehren. Die Ergebnisse dieser Untersuchungen tragen zur Systembeurteilung im Hinblick auf Betrieb und Sicherheit bei. Ziele der Analyse sind im einzelnen: die systematische Identifizierung aller moeglichen Ausfallkombinationen (Ursachen), die zu einem vorgegebenen unerwuenschten Ereignis fuehren, die Ermittlung von Zuverlaessigkeitskenngroessen, wie z. B. Eintrittshaeufigkeiten der Ausfallkombinationen, Eintrittshaeufigkeit des unerwuenschten Ereignisses oder Nichtverfuegbarkeit des Systems bei Anforderung.
