Description
Gaseous release from the various ceramic graphites following depressurization and core heat-up accident in medium sized HTGRs can significantly contribute to the driving force of sweeping fission products from the primary circuit. The retention characteristic of the ceramic graphites might also be affected. This preliminary analysis shows the possible significance of the gaseous release in sweeping the fission products from the primary circuit
