The small-sized prismatic mass-analyzer with high resolution capacity and sensitivity
Description
The prismatic mass-analyzer with two-dimensional electric and magnet fields is worked out by the untraditional way. In the mass-analyzer there are two accelerating faces for beam deflecting toward opposite sides. The angular dispersions of these faces by energy having different signs. While achievement of achromatic conditions the each face could have a large linear increase in the middle plane. Due to such electrostatic block structure the width of ingress ion beam into magnet are increasing in 6 times. The special dispersion of the device by mass is equal 43.3 mm/m per 1 % of mass change. In the proposed mass-analyzer a high resolution capability and sensitivity are ensuring due to the beam stigmatic focusing and absence of spherical aberrations of the second and the third order. All advantages of the analyzer is realizing at substances analyzing with small and mean ion masses. The exit block of the proposed mass-analyzer represents of the single lens which back focal planes are matched. Due to use of the lens the device could work in mass-spectrograph regime
