Spectroscopy of collective pair excitations
Description
The author considers the study of collective pair mode excitations in solids and liquids. Following the presentation of some general theoretical ideas regarding interacting pairs of excitations and their manifestations in inelastic scattering spectra, the author discusses, in turn, pair excitations in magnetic systems, in liquid helium, and in diamond, graphite and rare gas solids.
