Phase equilibrium in Cu-Gd-Se system

Description
Phase diagrams of two Cu-Gd2Se3 and CU2Se-Cd2Se3 quasibinary sections of the Cu-Gd-Se ternary system have been studied by physicochemical analysis methods. The Cu-Gd2Se3 system is of monotectonic type. MaXimUm Cu solubility in Gd2Se3 at 1380 deg C is 18 mol. %. The existence of two phases of alternative composition based on CU3GdSe3 and CuGdSe2 and a phase of Cu6Gd4Se9 constant composition has been foUnd. Cu3GdSe3 phase melts incongruently at 1205 deg C. CuGdSe2 decomposes at 920 deg C. Cu6Gd4Se9 exists in the temperature range 680-850 deg C. The formation of solid solutions on the base of Cu2Se and Gd2Se3 initial components is observed
