Use of exchange chromatography for removing curium from americium during the determination of americium by liquid scintillation spectrometry

Description
The method devised by M. Osaka et al. was modified. The ion exchange sorbent used was Dowex (Dow Liquid Separations), nitric acid-methanol mixtures served as the eluent. The sources for alpha spectrometry were prepared by microprecipitation on NdCl3. (orig.)
