Radiation effects on electronic structure of yttrium ceramics

Description
Methods of electron paramagnetic resonance and X-ray microanalysis were used to study the radiation effect and post-radiation relaxation time, using yttrium ceramics specimens, prepared from different dispersity powders, as examples. Specimens were prepared from YBa2Cu3O7-x type charge by pressing method with the use of ultrasound. Irradiation source - (CO60), γ-quantum energy was equal to 1.2 MeV, irradiation doses (γ) changed from 0 to 2400 Mrad and above (irradiation rate 5 Mrad/h). Influence of variation of Cu1+ and Cu3+ ion valency for Cu2+ under long-term γ-quantum radiation effect on paramagnetic properties of yttrium ceramic specimens was studied
