A mechanism for the formation of an ordered void array on the anion sublattice in fluorite

Description
Abstract Simple cubic void superlattices in electron irradiated fluorite are ascribed to radiation damage and defect diffusion in the anion sublattice alone. Interstitial crowdion migration and the calcium/fluorite misfit parameter are determining factors in the mechanism of super lattice formation.
