Safety research on radioactive waste disposal at NUCEF

Description
Thermodynamic data for important waste elements have been acquired for performance assessment of geological disposal of radioactive waste. The acquired data were available to describe results of leaching tests on bituminized waste, which was also conducted in NUCEF. Experimental studies are planned on the barrier ability of engineered barrier materials to provide scientific basis for the long-term performance assessments. (author)
