Double beta decay experiment in the Mont Blanc tunnel

  • 1. Universita di Milano and I.N.F.N. Sezione di Milano (Italy)

Description

A result is presented of a 10068 h measurement on 7632Ge neutrinoless double beta decay in the Mont Blanc Tunnel with a carefully studied shielding. A limit of tau1/2(0+-0+)>=4.7.1022y (68% c.l.) can be quoted, leading to a limit on the effective neutrino mass eff <= 14 eV in the most conservative theoretical framework. A new setup for 7632Ge is then discussed, leading to a considerable background reduction, together with the features of a new measurement on inclusive Te double beta decay on 2+ excited levels. Preliminary limits on both measurements are given
