Description
Regional geological surveying and drilling evaluation in recent years show that there are very large potential resources of sandstone-type uranium deposit in the southwestern part of Turpan-Hami basin. For finding out the age of ore-hosting rock series of sandstone-type uranium deposit, the sporomorph in rocks is identified and studied. The study shows that it is an assemblage of Pinuspollenites-Piceaepollenites-Callialasporites, corresponding to the Badaowan Formation of Lower Jurassic, and the paleo-climate was warm and moist. Based on the principle of sequence stratigraphy, according to the data of numerous drilling cores, well logging information, and outcrop observation, the author sets up a division and correlation in ore-hosting rock series. All the above mentioned has laid an important foundation for the accurate prediction and the evaluation of uranium resources in this region
