Rosenthal oscillations observed on the emission cross sections and the polarization degrees of Ne(2p53p) levels in He+-Ne collisions

  • 1. Kyoto Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Engineering

Description

Relative emission cross sections were measured for all Ne(2p53p) levels (2p1-2p10 in the Paschen notation) excited by He+ ions with incident energy E 0.2-20 keV. The polarization degree was also determined for each emission line. For most of the levels, the energy dependence of both the emission cross sections and the polarization degrees show oscillatory structures in the energy range observed. These were interpreted as Rosenthal oscillations. (Author)
