Intermediate valence to single ion Kondo behaviour in CePd3Bx alloys
Creators

Description
Susceptibility, resistivity thermopower and magnetoresistivity data are presented for CePd3Bx alloys, where the boron enters the lattice interstitially. All the data are consistent with a smooth cross-over from intermediate valence in CePd3 to trivalent local moment behaviour in CePd3B0.3. For x<0.15 the alloys mirror the properties of CePd3, but on reduced temperature scales. For 0.15≤x<0.3 the alloys obey single impurity Kondo theory, while the x=0.3 alloy is close to the localised limit. (orig.)
