Microfiche digitizing and primary images processing of INIS IAEA fund and brunch fund of R and D papers of Atominform Institute for information resources creation

The article describes the digitizing of microfiche funds containing millions of pages (for example, microfiche fund R and D of ATOMINFORM Institute, Russia; IAEA/INIS non-conventional literature (NCL) collection of microfiche, Austria). The terms of performance and quality assurance of such works are one of important point of such information resources creation. Creation of the electronic catalogue of 78000 R and D with bibliographic 10 field description and deployment of full texts of R and D permit quickly retrieve necessary information. It is shown, that the performance of such amount of works by the organization, fundholder, entails considerable expense connected with the purchasing scanners, software and the training specialists. Additional essential expenses are demanded with creation of the specialized technology for large document fund processing. It is shown, that it is more expedient to place an order for such works in the large specialized company possessing necessary experience, capacities and the trained personnel.
