Failed fuel detection using differential activity monitoring method
Description
Experiments carried out in connection with developing a failed fuel monitoring system for R-5, using a differential activity monitoring method are described. In this procedure, the difference between the activities of two samples, one from the outlet and the other from the inlet of a fuel channel, is measured. The test experiments were carried out with CIRUS bay water using two G.M. counters in order to assess the feasibility of this technique. (author)
