Carotid bifurcation imaging using 3D-FIESTA. A comparison with 3D- and 2D-MRA
Description
A usefulness of the 3D-fast imaging employing steady state acquisition (FIESTA) for carotid bifurcation imaging was examined in comparison with the 3D- and 2D-time of flight (TOF) method. Oblique-reconstructed image from axial 3D-FIESTA data set clearly described the structure of an arterial wall without flow-related artifact. The 3D-FIESTA was expressing the diameter of a blood vessel correctly compared with the TOF method. Detailed evaluation of carotid bifurcation can be performed without contrast media by the 3D-FIESTA in a short time (about 60 seconds). (author)
