Application of the Moriyama rule to estimation of activity and osmotic coefficients of strong electrolytes in water at elevated temperatures
- 1. Brigham Young Univ., Provo, UT (USA)
- 2. Ben Gurion Univ., Beer Sheva (Israel)
Description
The applicability of the Moriyama rule for estimating activity coefficients of aqueous electrolytes at elevated temperatures has been investigated. The rule was tested and shown to apply up to 473 K where data were available. Equations are given which can be used to predict high temperature activity coefficients for 1:1, 2:1 and 1:2 electrolytes using low temperature (298 K) data and data for NaCl and CaClz at the temperature of interest
