Counting efficiency for electron-capture nuclides in liquid-scintillation detectors. Single coincidence gamma-ray

Description
A model of calculation is presented that allows the determination of the detection efficiency of nuclides that decay bay electron capture, coincident with a gamma transition. This model is applied to liquid scintillation measurements for three nuclides, 54Mn, 139Ce and 85Sr. Three different scintillator solutions are used in a wide range of quenching. In all cases theoretical and experimental results are compared. (author)
