Thermal convection in accretion disks of black holes

Description
Linear theory of thermal convective instability in radiating gas with dominant radiation pressure is considered. The character of the effect of magnetic field and differential rotation on the process of onset of thermal convection in the inner region of accretion disk of black holes is elucidated. It is shown that convective motions are intensified in the convective cells with the linear dimensions transverse of a disk several times more of their linear dimensions in radial direction
