Development of JNC mobile system for geoscientific characterization
- 1. Japan Nuclear Cycle Development Inst., Toki, Gifu (Japan). Tono Geoscience Center
Description
As instrument for geoscientific characterization of deep groundwater was developed to obtain in-situ hydrogeological and geochemical properties. The main components of the instrument are the hydrogeological testing unit and groundwater sampling unit. Field tests of this system were performed using boreholes. From these tests, it was confirmed that each unit of the system achieved its design performance when combined with hydrogeological testing or the groundwater sampling unit. Much useful information for future improvements to the system was also obtained. (author)
