Description

Small-Size Electron Accelerator (SEA-7) a bremsstrahlung source with a continuous energy spectrum arising as a result of the electron kinetic energy conversion during deceleration in the target made of a material with high atomic number. This equipment is used for non-desructive testing activities in outdoor and closed facilities. Analysis of the radiation safety aspect from using SEA-7 is important to undertake in order to protect worker and public from radiation dose that exceed dose limit value. Identification using quantitative descriptive methods that describes the current state of SEA-7 utilization in non-destructive testing activities. The radiation safety aspect in this assessment is divided into subjects of technological description, safety features, safety requirements, occupational exposure and public exposure. From this analysis it can be concluded that the use of SEA-7 has not fully met the radiation safety requirements listed in the Government Regulation. (author)
