Interaction of helium atoms with tilt large-angle boundary [110] in tungsten
Description
Methods of mathematical simulation were applied to study the interaction of helium atoms with symmetric large-angle special boundary of inclination (110) Σ=9 in bcc lattice of tungsten. Shift and microstress fields in the region of helium atom localization on the boundary are determined. Presence of tensile strains and rapidly decreasing microstresses in the range of boundary adjoint to the interstitial helium atom are found. The analysis of the character of shift and microstress fields testifies to possible initiation of brittle intercrystalline fracture by helium atoms
