Description
The invention is aimed at the improvement of accelerated ion beam focusing stability under the reduction of their energy at the electrostatic accelerator outlet. The accelerator contains a chamber for ion production, to which an anode and axial-symmetric drawing electrode is introduced. The drawing electrode has a channel for ion transport and a cup-shaped void. The surface of the void bottom is produced in the form of a cone, its generatrix making up an obtuse angle with the system axis inside the void. Due to it such field distribution between the drawing and accelerating electrodes is created, that the aggregate effect of focusing and defocusing forces turns out to be almost independent of the ratio of the accelerating voltage to the drawing one. 3 figs
