Basal ganglia calcification: clinical and X-ray correlation

Description

The case is described of a female patient with progressing manifestations of mental deterioration, the extrapyramidal syndrome of a Parkinsonian type and changes in the electroencephalogram, caused by progressing calcification of basal ganglia in the brain. Calcification was proved by X-ray radiogrphy and the finding specified by computerized tomography of the brain. (M.D.) 4 figs., 21 refs
