17O, 89Y, 183W NMR study of yttrium heteropolytungstates

Description

Complexes of Sc, Y and La with tetradentate ligands, PW11O397- and W5O186-, have been studied in aqueous solution using 17O, 31P, 89Y, 45Sc and 139La NMR. Data obtained are consistent with the presence of Y(La)(PW11O39)211- and Y(La)(W5O18)29-complexes, in which Y(La) atoms are surrounded by 8 oxygen atoms. NMR data also show the change in the structure of PW11O39 ligand at replacing of Y by La. The capabilities of NMR 45Sc, 89Y and 139La in studying their heteropolytungstates have been compared
