To the theory of low-frequency electromagnetic solitons in a relativistic electron-positron plasma

Description

Nonlinear low-frequency electromagnetic waves propagating along a magnetic field in relativistic electron-positron plasma with one-dimensional particle momentum distribution are under study. Method of one-dimensional kinetic equation is used for investigations. Expressions for parameters characterizing solitons of the types of solitary progressive wave and nonlinear wave packet are derived. Growth of soliton amplitude as a result of cyclotron interaction with particles of a high-energy beam is studied. Application of the theory of electromagnetic solitons for the interpretation of pulsar radio emission structure is under discussion
