Intensity filtration of laser light
Description
Intensity filter systems have been developed which exploit the non-linear optical properties of CS2 and bleachable dyes. The filters, primarily designed for use with mode locked Nd : YAG systems can however be used for longer pulses at any wavelength. The requirements are examined, and the configurations discussed for the following applications: (1) high or low intensity flters (2) positive or negative notch filters (3) isolators, and (4) pulse shapers.
