Description
This document describes a test method for determining the activity concentration of airborne tritium by trapping the tritium in an aqueous solution contained in gas scrubber bottles. The sampled air is continuously pumped and converted into small bubbles by a specific generator. The equations given are valid for a sampling system with four gas scrubber bottles. However, they can also be adapted to collectors with only one collection module specifically for activity concentrations of tritiated water vapor in air. This document does not cover results from laboratory samples according to DIN EN ISO 9698 (Water quality - Determination of tritium activity concentration - Liquid scintillation counter method) or ISO 13168 (Water quality - Simultaneous determination of tritium and carbon 14 activities - Test method using liquid scintillation counting). The following changes have been made compared to DIN ISO 20045 (VDE 0493-1-45):2024-01: a) the requirements are adopted as EN.

Dieses Dokument beschreibt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Aktivitätskonzentration luftgetragenen Tritiums durch Einfangen des Tritiums in einer in Gaswaschflaschen enthaltenen wässrigen Lösung. Die beprobte Luft wird kontinuierlich gepumpt und durch einen spezifischen Generator in kleine Bläschen überführt. Die angegebenen Gleichungen gelten für ein Probenahmesystem mit vier Gaswaschflaschen. Sie können jedoch auch an Sammler mit nur einem Sammelmodul speziell für Aktivitätskonzentrationen tritiierten Wasserdampfs in Luft angepasst werden. Dieses Dokument behandelt nicht Ergebnisse von Laborproben nach DIN EN ISO 9698 (Wasserbeschaffenheit - Bestimmung der Aktivitätskonzentration von Tritium - Verfahren mit Flüssigszintillationszähler) oder ISO 13168 (Water quality - Simultaneous determination of tritium and carbon 14 activities - Test method using liquid scintillation counting).
