Classification of Wigner operators by a new type of weight space diagram
Description
The status of the use of the Wigner operator approach to unitary groups is reviewed. The main ideas, techniques and known results are sketched. The way in which the weight patterns for SU(3) appear as the classifying concept for a new family of polynomials defined by SU(3) canonical tensor operators is discussed in detail
