Description

In the last years particular attention is paid to designs based on use of multilayer systems in which thermionic and autoemission (tunnel) phenomena are implemented. These phenomena provide for their (at least theoretical) use as a suitable alternative to thermionic and thermoelectric converters. Using quantum mechanics techniques the investigators demonstrate high efficiency of multilayer systems at relatively low temperatures and densities of heat fluxes. The latter phenomena are especially attractive for engineers engaged in development of radionuclide power supply systems. The report describes thermodynamic analysis of multilayer systems
