Superplastic alloy processing and properties

Description

The main peculiarities of superplasticity as well as ways of the treatment of superplastic alloys to obtain the required structure are considered. A strong dependence of mechanical characteristics on the test temperature and the grain size in the case of superfine grain structure is shown. The flow stress is one of the main characteristics, it decreases sharply with the test temperature increase. Fine grain structure ensures high toughness in the products. For a number of alloys (Ni-38 % Cr-10 % Fe; Mg-34 % Al; Zn-22 % Al) grain size dependences of the flow stress are presented
