Measurement of charge-changing cross sections of 200 A GeV S and fragments with a Cu target
Description
The charge-changing cross sections on a Cu target are measured for 200A GeV32S and its P, Si, Al, Mg, Na, and Ne fragments. The observed secondary fragment charge-changing cross sections turn out to be higher than those for primary particles. The electromagnetic spallation cross sections are found to be proportional to the square of the charge, consistent with theoretical predictions. 9 refs., 5 figs., 2 tabs
