Computerized simulation of radiolysis mechanism of ethylene glycol aqueous solutions in the presence of Cu(2)

Description
The mechanism, based on procedure of radical and ion-radical reactions, earlier established by experiments was suggested o explain quantitatively the available data on γ-radiolysis of ethylene glycol aqueous solutions an the presence of copper ions. Mathematical system simulation was conducted with the use of special program packet of optimal stationary radiolysis simulation. The program packet was realized in FORTRAN 4 and directed to the disk operating system of ES computer. The ratios of earlier unknown rate constants of chemical reactions CH2(OH)CHOH→CH2CHO+H2O and CH2(OH)CHOH→H+CH2(OH)CHO (0.028+-0.003); H+CH2(OH)CH2OH and H+Cu (2) (0.5+-0.05); CH2-- (OH)CHOH+Cu (2) and CW2(OH)CHOH+Cu (1) (0.6+-0.07) were determined. The rate constants of reactions CH2(OH)CHOH→H+CH2(OH)CHO (0.2+-0.1 s-1); H+Cu (2) (4.2x104 m3/(mol x s)), were determined as well
