Charged-particle electrostatic analyzer

An electrostatic analyzer of charged particles is proposed containing an electrostatic cylinder analyzer with double focusing, a detector and a power source. To enhance the measurement accuracy and reduce the size, the analyzer plates are made of semiconductor material with a resistance nonuniformly distributed with respect to the height of the plates, the power source being connected to the plates half way along the height. The upper and lower edges of the respective plates are connected to each other and, through a voltage divider, to the source. The analyzer design described allows the size of the analyzer and accordingly its weight to be reduced by over 30 %, it also allows one to simplify its construction and enhance the accuracy of measurements
