Underground water prospecting by studying subsoil through geoelectric method

This paper shows the results of a geoelectric study for a groundwater prospection work, in the area of ''La Calera'', at about 10 km northeast from Bogota. The interpreted geometry and lithology were later compared to a subsurface profile made in a control well up to 6 m depth. The proposed model obtained with the geoelectric method is in good agreement with thicknesses and lithology of the layers. However, it can be observed that without any other control, a resistivity value of 110 ohm-m interpreted as a saturated sandstone, really corresponds to a conglomerate within a claymatrix
