High-field magnetization of RCo10Si2-type of compounds (R=Y, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm)
- 1. Amsterdam Univ. (Netherlands). Van der Waals-Zeeman Inst.
Description
Magnetization measurements at 4.2 K in magnetic fields up to 38 T are presented on single-crystalline powder particles of RCo10Si2 (R=Y, Dy, Ho, Er and Tm) compounds that are free to rotate in the applied field. From these measurements, values are derived of the Co-moments and of the strength of the exchange interaction between the R and the Co moments in the various compounds. The dependence of the intersublattice interaction on the R component is discussed. (orig.)
