Production of strong current ion beams in a non-uniform magnetic field
Description
The possibility is discussed of producing strong current ion beams in a magnetic field without neglecting the diamagnetic effect of the drifting electrons across the magnetic field. In certain cases the diamagnetic effect can improve the ion current density. A design of the possible ion beam source is also illustrated. (Author)
