Determination of cross sections averaged over a fission spectrum for threshold reactions induced by light elements

Description

The cross sections, averaged over a fission neutron spectrum, of threshold reactions on elements of atomic number between 12 and 21 have been determined, with emphasis on the constituents of biological and geological matrices. Argon, with limited analytical interest and sulphur, which does not presents products induced by threshold reactions that can be detected by gamma spectrometry in standard conditions of neutron activation analysis, were not included in the study. The method used is described and the results obtained are presented. (author). 4 refs., 4 tabs
