Perturbed angular correlation studies using 99Mo, 140La, and 147Na as probe nuclei
Description
The perturbed angular correlation (PAC) technique has proved to be a useful tool for the study of gyromagnetic ratios and electric quadrupole moments of the excited nuclear states; however, the number of radioactive probes that are currently being used for the study of the dynamics of biomolecules is very small. In the work discussed in this paper, the time integral PAC (TOPIC) technique has been employed using 99Mo, 140La, and 147Nd nuclei as PAC probes in various biological materials. This was done to check the suitability of these radioisotopes for studying the dynamics of biomolecules. They have the following advantages
