Cerenkov light self-absorption as the indicator of intermediate changes during microsecond pulse radiolsysis

  • 1. Institute of Nuclear Research, Warsaw (Poland)

Description

The measurement of the kinetics of intermediates formed during the pulse of electrons is discussed, using Cerenkov emission as monitoring light for fast spectrophotometric analysis. The emission, diminished by self-absorption due to intermediate products, is derived as a function of optical density for the simplest kinetics - zero-order build-up during the pulse. Tests for deviation from zero order are developed. (author)
