Description
Data on physical-chemical processes occurred in the course of accident at the high-level liquid wastes storage at the IA 'Mayak' in 1957 are discussed. Physical modelling of the explosion process with the waste components was carried out by derivatographic method according to the most probable scenario. The power characteristics of the explosive mixture formed under the accident conditions were determined. The trinitrotoluene equivalent of the explosion of 1957 ( 2.5-4.1 t tnt) and the release height (up to 1 km) are determined. 17 refs., 1 tab
