Treatment of resonances in the coupled channel approximation
Description
An outline of the variational method for solving the equation of coupled reaction channel is presented and the advantageous points of the method are pointed out to obtain good approximate solutions. As an example of one channel scattering problem with nonlocal potential, the results of a microscopic study of scattering of 16O and α are shown. The results of studies on resonances in 12C - 16O system are presented as an example of the usual coupled channel approximation. A possibility of investigating the resonances in the framework of the usual coupled reaction channel approximation is shown by presenting the preliminary result of a model calculation of reaction 12C(12C, α)20Ne.
