Description

The generalized results of radionuclide concentrations in the air, fall-out and on the earth surface in the Ignalina NPP environment in 1990-1994 are presented. Radionuclide flows onto the lake and earth surface are evaluated. Radionuclide concentrations in the air are compared to those measured after Chernobyl NPP accident. It has been indicated that after the Chernobyl accident iodine radioisotopes in the air could cause thyroid gland pathology in children. (author). 5 refs., 5 figs
