Description

The paper studies early detection and radiotherapy, either as pure radiotherapy or as surgical treatment combined with irradiation of tumours of the mouth. Time-dependence, mode of irradiation, tumour stage etc. play an important role. These parameters must be coordinated accurately and specifically in irradiation planning and tumour therapy. It is very important to control possible radiation side-effects. Special regard should be paid to the immunological system. (GSE)

Abstract (German)

In der vorliegenden Studie wurden Frueherkennung und daraus resultierende Strahlenbehandlung, teils als reine Strahlenbehandlung, teils als chirurgische Behandlung kombiniert mit Bestrahlung von Mundhoehlentumoren untersucht. Zeitabhaengigkeit, Bestrahlungsmodus, Tumorstadium u.a. Faktoren spielen dabei eine entscheidende Rolle. Diese Parameter muessen bei der Bestrahlungsplanung und bei der Therapie der Tumore genau und spezifisch aufeinander abgestimmt sein. Die Kontrolle von eventuell auftrennenden Nebeneffekten resultierend aus der Bestrahlung ist sehr wichtig. Besonderes Augenmerk muss dabei auch auf das Immunsystem gerichtet werden. (GSE)
