Observation of sawtooth crashes associated with m=2/n=1 and m=3/n=2 precursors

Description

Various internal disruptive events associated with m=2/n=1 and m=3/n=2 MHD modes are induced by lower hybrid current drive (LHCD) and electron cyclotron heating in the WT-3 tokamak (R0=65cm, a=20cm, BT≤1.75 T), where m and n refers poloidal and toroidal mode number, respectively. These events are observed and analyzed by soft X-ray (SX) tomography, and are compared with various models for sawtooth crashes and disruptions. (author)
